This Just In...

They say, "never turn your back to the ocean." Well, there is another natural force that should not be underestimated: a 21 week old!!! Almost 5 months old, Tiago is on the move and has mommy's heart racing.

I had left the camera running to document Tiago's self-entertainment. He was chatting it up and seemed to be enjoying playing with his toys (as I reluctantly searched for day-care providers on-line--booh). I had actually forgotten that the camera was running. No sooner had I realized that he was dangerously close to my camera, the slobber-miester decided to ditch his carrot and make a quick "commando" crawl for the lens. This was AFTER I had already found him wedged under the dresser for the second time. (The first time I panicked, the second time I thought, "how do you do that--and why?!" and took a picture for posterity.)

Folks, we have a crawler, and he is faast! For now, I have stuffed pillows under the dresser and stored the camera out of reach ...things are about to get exciting!

Mis Amiguitos

Tiago's little friends from our exercise class came by for a play date on Friday! The boys are all roughly 4.5 months old and the little girl is a tad bit older.

Play Date at our Place!

Tiago and I hosted a play date at our place on Friday and had lots of fun! I put out a veggie platter (including some tomatoes from our garden) and also made some scrumptious, hybrid, butterscotch, peanut butter, chocolate chip cookies. Guess which plate of goodies went first--that's right, we're still working on our veggies today, whereas, the cookies are long-gone! Tiago and his playmates enjoyed some "floor" time and the mommies discussed the likes of acid reflux, poop and sleep (ah, what a shift in social networking from 10 years ago--heck even 1 year ago). I am including some pictures of our house (mostly to document what it looks like when it is clean) and a picture of Tiago as we awaited the arrival of our guests. If I get permission from the other mommies to post a picture of the group, I will add that later. I assure you, four 4-6month old babies on your living room floor is quite an adorable image!

Bath Time Babbles

Our little filibuster has learned the power of voice. He has recently taken to experimenting with different intonation, cadence, volume and pitch. He sometimes sounds like a baby angel, other times he'll belt out a hoarse "ooh," and often times he enjoys screeching. He enjoys when mommy flickers her finger between his gums, it sounds more like speech, and we just find it hilarious. In the following videos, he seems to be giving quite the bath-time sermon (he talked for almost 30 minutes) and may have just learned how to stretch out his bath-time, thus delaying bed-time!
