Nap Time Lovies!

Okay, two weeks ago (when this was filmed), Tiago was demonstrating partiality to Spanish but, lately, he has discovered that some words are just easier to say in English. For example, he now says ball instead of pelota (or bola), car instead of carro, and most recently he has even switched to saying cat instead of gato! It might be laziness or efficiency...or being BILINGUAL! I definitely have my work cut out for me trying to keep him interested in the minority language (I thought I had at least 2 more years before he would start showing a preference for the dominant language-- bummer)! At least we have this footage for proof that I tried. Check him out with his nap-time lovies (notice how he throws "gato" to the ground when I suggest that he might be ready for a nap):

La Playa

On Friday, mommy and Tiago took an impromptu trip to Half Moon Bay to try out the new Sand-Castle-Kit that Grandma Naomi brought down during her visit. What a gorgeous day (perfect for flying kites and playing ball on the beach)!
Tiago and mommy back-packed down the steep cliff to the sandy beach below (thank goodness that little sand-wagon is light-weight and easy to carry in one hand)!
Not only did Tiago enjoy his new sand- paraphernalia, but a neighboring little boy also enjoyed some of the toys, as he pulled the old bait and switch, and tried to swap out a fancy seahorse-mold for a plastic shovel (nice try)! Actually, Tiago enjoyed the extra shovel and kindly allowed the other boy to play with his sand-castle-kit. All in all, it was a wonderful little outing (see bellow for footage of the horses on the beach):

Déjà Vu

After stuffing our faces with all sorts of patriotic food on the 4th, the guys dropped one by one into a food coma. And, in the back of my mind, something about this image is vaguely familiar to me...I'm recalling indigestion, drooling...
OH! Now, I remember:

4th of July Weekend

Our 4th of July weekend was a beautiful, warm weekend (and the weather was nice too).
We celebrated independence day with family and friends and (literally) rolled out the red carpet for a fabulous BBQ in the front yard!
Tiago enjoyed all of the attention over the weekend and he even managed another trip to the San Francisco zoo. This time he invited his daddy, and Grandma Naomi and Paul to join him.
Now that he's older, he actually recognized some of the animals and seemed impressed by the giraffes, lions and monkeys...and he LOVED the petting zoo!!!

Neighborhood Fun

With all of the traveling that we've been doing lately, we almost lost track of how much fun it is to just hang out around town.
This week, we headed out to "My Gym" and had some toddler fun

We went to the farmers' market, downtown, we worked on building a storage shed in the backyard
and, when it was hot, we played in the sprinklers
